    From Australia, Sarah & her boyfriend of 6 years, Luke, have worked to develop this incredible product after encountering a common issue: clients frequently complained about hair damage from swimming in both the ocean and chlorinated pools, leading to severe breakage, unwanted color changes, and increased brittleness.

    As a hair dresser, Sarah knew she needed to take matters into her own hands; and so, Coastal Grl was born!

    After 2 years of product development, trialling, scientific testing, lab results, refinements, and TONS of setbacks; We finally did it!

  5. Is Coastal GRL Pre-Swim reef safe?

    Because this product category is still so new, we’re not currently able to officially label Coastal GRL Pre-Swim as “reef safe.” That being said, we LOVE the ocean and would never intentionally create products that could harm it.

    Who is Pre-Swim for?

    All hair types and colours — including straight, wavy, curly, blonde, bleached, colour-treated hair, and extensions.

    What makes our Pre-Swim unique?

    Pre-Swim coats strands with a silky barrier before chlorine, salt, and sun exposure to help reduce dryness, frizz, tangles, and colour fade.

    After swimming, towel-dry your hair & reapply a small amount through the mid-lengths & ends. This helps your brush glide through easily

    Yes, Pre-Swim is designed with colour-treated hair and extensions in mind. It is made to help protect your hair investment by supporting smoother, softer strands before pool, beach, or styling exposure.

    Who created Coastal Grl?

    Coastal Grl was created by Sarah, a hairdresser who wanted to help protect hair before damage happens. After seeing how swimming could leave hair feeling dry, tangled, frizzy, and faded, she created Pre-Swim as a preventative haircare solution.

    Can men use this product too?

    Absolutely! Anyone who's swimming can!

  8. How do I use Pre-Swim?

    Apply to dry or damp hair before swimming, mainly on the mid-lengths and ends. For best results, apply before getting in the water.
