APPLY EARLY AND OFTEN

Apply sunscreen 15 minutes before going out, and reapply every 2 hours, as well as after sweating, swimming or towel drying.

Apply enough sunscreen to cover all skin that clothing will not cover. Don't forget to apply to the tops of your feet, your neck, your ears and the top of your head.

MAKE IT A HABIT

Teach kids sun-safe habits from a young age and apply sunscreen with them every day. Apply the sunscreen 15 minutes before sun exposure. Dot sunscreen all over your kids, and race to see who can rub it in fastest. Set a timer for when it's time to reapply (at least every 2 hours), and celebrate "sunscreen time" with a snack or special activity.
